Legendary Australian rock icons 'Rose Tattoo' are soon embarking yet another tour of Europe. Based on their last CD release 'Blood Brothers', the 'Tatts' commissioned T-Rex Art to design a Special Limited Edition Tour CD/DVD package. This package features a 2 disc set.

The outer cover idea displays the classic Rose Tattoo snake logo in a 'Black Chrome' finish and bearing 3 roses, each rose representing a late member. At the request of lead vocalist Angry Anderson the wording 'Rose Tattoo' was re-designed by T-Rex to add an 'Eastern Touch' while maintaining the rock'n'roll feel, more importantly maintaining the bands historic roots and integrity. A steel surround border was added to establish the 'Special Edition' . Each corner features a chrome skull and crossbones and the lettering is carved into the metal.

The process and tools used in this job were: Illustration of logo by hand then vectorised and streamlined in CorelDraw, finally beveled and treated in Adobe Photoshop and returned to Corel for the adding of Vector images and text.

The Yeehaa Boys are a five piece Country/Swing band consisting of Chris Fitz-Gibbon (Ted Mulry Gang) on lead vocals and guitar, Mark Lucas (The Radiators) on drums, Mick Buckley (The Mick Buckley Band) on piano, Artie Taylor(The Buddy Holly Show) on bass and Jordon on lead guitar. For their debut Album cover they commissioned T-Rext to present them in a 'Mad magazine style' caricature form.

For this I started with a basic hand-drawn illustration which I then rendered utilising their own skin tones . These were sampled off a supplied photo. I then exaggerated the features just enough for parody but still maintaining their actual look. Next I used the airbrush tool to smooth and enhance skin tones from dark to light. The balance of light and dark were controlled by the use of Photoshop's 'Dodge' tool. The lips and teeth were accented heavily as they add 'life' to the subject. Particularly teeth always look funnier when they're very white. The Horse shoe was hand illustrated then scanned and 'metalised' in Adobe Photoshop.

This job was done for a worthy cause. The Addiction Treatment Foundation asked for T-Rex's donation in form of graphic design and we gladly offered our services.

A poster an ad and a T-Shirt were the jobs involved, each item featuring the theme of the cause; to take addicts off their methadone dependency and restore them back to a normal lifestyle. The winged man is the tower of strength guiding them along the journey to recovery.

Needless to say the night was a huge success, our job was done!
